Russia's telecommunications watchdog Roskomnadzor fined Google 700,000 rubles (11,116 U.S. dollars) on Thursday for failing to remove all search links to banned information.

"Google makes selective filtering of search results -- more than a third of links from a single registry of prohibited information are saved in the search results," Roskomnadzor said in a statement.

Russian legislation stipulates that search engine operators are obliged to exclude links to Internet pages with prohibited information from search results.

In December 2018, Roskomnadzor fined Google 500,000 rubles (around 7,940 dollars) for a similar violation.
