Darktrace, the world's leading AI company for cyber defense, announced in Singapore on July 17 that South Korea's representative public energy enterprise, Korea Midland Power (KOMIPO), had deployed the system across its vast digital network.
A leader in the domestic electric power market, KOMIPO operates six power generation sites across the nation. Its data center, located in the province of Boryeong, monitors all network activity covering nine percent of Korea's energy production.
Providing the nation with high-quality electric power and heat, KOMIPO is demonstrating its recognition of the power of Darktrace's artificial intelligence to defend its digital assets and critical operations from sophisticated and fast-moving cyber threats.
Lim Kil-hwan, Chief of Information Security, commented: "As a key source of energy that keeps the country running, our operations must be carried out flawlessly. Securing our data around the clock is therefore a crucial business priority.
"The self-learning AI of Darktrace constantly monitors our digital infrastructure and takes intelligent, preventive actions to stop any cyber threats from escalating into a crisis. Darktrace is the most critical tool we are using to ensure KOMIPO remains a leading power generation company and a resilient provider to the national infrastructure."
