The gross domestic product (GDP) of the 19-member eurozone and the 28-member European Union both grew by 0.2 percent on a quarterly basis in the second quarter of 2019, preliminary data revealed on Wednesday.
On a year-on-year basis, the Eurozone GDP grew by 1.1 percent and the 28-member European Union by 1.3 percent in the second quarter of 2019, according to the European Union's statistical office Eurostat.
In the first quarter of 2019, GDP had grown by 0.4 percent in the Eurozone and by 0.5 percent in the EU28 on a quarterly basis.
The preliminary flash estimate of the second quarter GDP growth is based on the data of 18 member states, said the EU statistical body.
