U.S. trade deficit shrank to 54 billion U.S. dollars in July, down 1.5 billion dollars from the revised June reading of 55.5 billion dollars, the U.S. Department of Commerce said Wednesday.
U.S. exports in July increased to 207.4 billion dollars, 1.2 billion dollars more than that in June, while imports decreased to 261.4 billion dollars, down 0.4 billion dollars from the previous month, the department said.
The goods and services deficit in July increased 28.2 billion dollars, or 8.2 percent, from the same month of 2018.
