The 17th China International Semiconductor Expo, one of the largest expos in the integrated circuit (IC) industry, was held in east China's Shanghai from Sept. 3 to 5.

Over 1,000 entrepreneurs and scholars from over 100 countries and regions including China, the United States, Germany, the U.K., France, Japan and the Republic of Korea took part.

More than 200 companies, including industrial leaders such as Tsinghua Unigroup and NXP Semiconductors, showcased their products and services in a total of six themed exhibition areas.

China's IC industry has achieved significant development, with an annual compound growth rate of more than 20 percent. The country will remain a driving force of the global IC market growth with emerging demands for integrated circuits in the 5G, artificial intelligence, intelligent and connected vehicle industries.

China will open up its IC industry broader, said Qiao Yueshan with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

"China is willing to enhance cooperation with countries around the world and welcomes companies from different countries to invest and do business in China," he said.
