A forum was held in Quzhou city, Zhejiang province, from Wednesday to Friday, to connect overseas Chinese business people and promote exchange and cooperation. More than 210 guests from 70 countries and regions attended the forum.

Zhejiang province is home to 1.12 million returned overseas Chinese and their relatives, and more than 2 million overseas Chinese living in more than 180 countries and regions are from the province. More than 80% of them are aged between 20 and 59. As China's economy grows, more and more overseas Chinese are choosing to come back and start businesses in their hometowns.

On Wednesday, a signing ceremony was held to mark cooperation agreements between 10 overseas Chinese business groups and 10 local villages in Qujiang district. The two sides agreed to work together in the fields of industry development, ecological protection, civilization construction, rural governance, etc.

Lian Xiaomin, chairman of the Zhejiang Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, said in his speech that overseas Chinese are the pride of the people in their hometowns, and they are an indispensable force of promoting rural revitalization. Lian said he hopes more overseas Chinese can contribute to the development of rural areas in Zhejiang.
