A symposium was held Friday to mark the 70th anniversary of the uprising of two aviation companies in Hong Kong.

Wang Yang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, met with the representatives of the attendees before the symposium.

On Nov. 9, 1949, a total of 12 aircraft from the two air carriers flew from Hong Kong to Beijing and Tianjin on the Chinese mainland during the uprising, a patriotic move that has great significance in the history of the Chinese People's War of Liberation and civil aviation of New China.

You urged efforts to carry forward the spirit of patriotism and the practice of hard work, firmly push for the peaceful reunification of the motherland and strive for the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
