CIIE's first days host hundreds of agreements

Around 1,000 agreements were reached in the first three days of the ongoing China International Import Expo, organizers said at a news conference on Friday.

Liu Fuxue, deputy director of CIIE Bureau, said around 1,200 exhibitors and 2,600 buyers have had rounds of business meetings from Nov. 5 to 7, while 258 events such as policy analysis, new product launches and signing ceremonies took place.

"Around 1,000 agreements of preliminary intention on cooperation were reached over the past three days," he said. "We are busy collecting figures and information on closed deals and will announce the number by the end of the expo."

Around 1,500 people attended the expo's opening ceremony on Nov. 5, among them leaders from political, business and academic circles, Liu said, adding 3,200 people participated in sessions of the Hongqiao International Economic Forum in the afternoon.

The expo venue saw a record high of visitors on Nov. 6, totaling 227,000 people.
