On Jan. 18, Chinese New Year celebrations were held in the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center, a project in Bangladesh contracted by China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC).
Over 1,200 people attended the celebrations, including local workers and Chinese CSCEC employees working at the construction site, as well as other Bangladeshis and overseas Chinese.
Performances like singing and dancing by an art troupe from China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region won wide applause.
As a landmark project of the Belt and Road Initiative, the exhibition center will have 800 booths in two hall rooms and public and technical facilities on a construction area of 33,000 square meters.
