On Feb. 21, the 3D printed Dubai landmark, Office of the Future, set a Guinness World Record as the first 3D printed commercial building in the world. As the general contractor of the project, China State Construction Engineering Cooperation (CSCEC) Middle East has participated throughout the process from design to construction.

Adjacent to the Dubai World Trade Center, the Office of the Future is a 250-square-meter building that has built-in activity centers, offices, and lounges. CSCEC Middle East gained a considerable reputation through its great performance in completing the project that showcases the design concepts of simplicity and modernity, a futuristic appearance, and a spread-out layout.

The building components were 3D printed in China, transported to Dubai, and then assembled on site. Overall, it took 17 days to print and only two days to install.

The Office of the Future was inaugurated in May 2016 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of the Emirate of Dubai.
