The commencement ceremony for major projects in the expansion of effective investment in Zhejiang province was held on March 3. The Huzhou sub-ceremony took place in Nanxun New Industry City, during which construction of phase one in a 16-billion-yuan project to produce ultra-thin glass substrates was announced.

The Taijia Optoelectronics ultra-thin glass substrate deep processing project was introduced by China Fortune Land Development Co., Ltd (CFLD) and the People’s Government of Nanxun districtin Huzhou city, Zhejiang province. It took less than half a year between signing the deal in September last year and the official commencement of construction.

As the first industrial project worth more than 10 billion yuan and the first leading project of new-type displays in Nanxun district, it will fill the gap in this industrial layout in Zhejiang province when completed. It also represents a key breakthrough by Nanxun district in forming a hundred-billion-yuan new-type display industry cluster.

Ma Xiaohui, secretary of the Huzhou municipal Party committee, reported to theZhejiang Provincial Party Committee and the provincial governmentvia video link, briefing them on basic information about 79 projects including the ultra-thin glass project, and announced that construction had started on the projects.

The Taijia Optoelectronics ultra-thin glass substrate deep processing projectis being invested in and constructed by Shenzhen Efonlong Optronics Display Co., Ltd., one of the top three enterprises within the new-type display industry. The ultra-thin glass substrates produced by the enterprise are one of the main basic materials in the industry.

Upon completion, its production capacity will reach 1.44 million ultra-high-definition LCD panels a year. It is expected to realize annual sales of 16 billion yuan and pay 900 million yuan in tax annually once production begins.

With large-scale investment and economy-facilitated effect, this project is conducive to attracting upstream and downstream support industries such as substrate glass, LCD panel binding, mobile phones and televisions. It will also help drive the development of other relevant enterprises.

Reports show that since CFLD and the People’s Government of Nanxun district signed their cooperation agreement and joined hands to develop the Nanxun New Industry City in 2016, a number of high-quality projects from Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou and other regions were attracted to join. Total investment now amounts to over 30 billion yuan, forming four major industrial clusters including new-type display products, intelligent manufacturing equipment, new energy vehicles and auto parts, as well as specialized equipment.
