China Fortune Land Development Co Ltd (CFLD) ranked first in the list of "Top-20 Industry City Operators in China," released by the Guandian Index Research Institute on March 16 because of its outstanding performance in running new industry cities. China Merchants Shekou Industrial Zone Holdings Co. Ltd. and Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park Dev. Co. ranked second and third respectively.

The related report on the performance of industry city operators points out that policies including the development plan outline for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the integrated regional development outline for the Yangtze River Delta issued in 2019 have created new incentives for local governments to introduce preferential follow-up industrial policies and increase the supply of industrial land.

According to the report, the national industrial layout will be further optimized and upgraded. Issues currently facing operators of industrial real estate include determining how best to strengthen public private partnership (PPP) and how to efficiently guide and develop the industry.

The top three operators on the rankings are benchmark enterprises in the operation of industry cities in China. As the leading domestic new industry city operator, CFLD’s extraordinary performance in promoting regional high-quality progress with industry development as a priority earned it first place on the list.

Over the past year, CFLD has continued to introduce a number of billion-yuan leading projects for industrial zones, including Lishui New Industry City in Nanjing and Changfeng New Industry City in Hefei province. In addition, it has provided custom industrial services for enterprises, ensuring the rapid implementation of projects.

The report also notes that 2020 marks the end of China’s 13th Five-Year Plan and the completion of the project to build a moderately prosperous society in all respects. During this time, "industrial development" has undoubtedly been a keyword. With opportunities and risks, industrial real estate companies need to enhance their operating capabilities to thrive in the future.
