On Mar. 13, China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) held a conference on ramping up measures for COVID-19 prevention and control, helping to cope with the outbreaks outside China. President Zheng Xuexuan chaired the conference at the CSCEC headquarters in Beijing. Senior managers from 222 branch locations participated through video links.

After receiving briefs on the most recent prevention and control measures taken by overseas branches and projects, Zheng laid out instructions and requirements for the next step. He said the prevention and control are of paramount importance, as the outbreaks outside China are now developing. Leaderships at all levels should move in concerted actions to integrate overseas management into the domestic prevention and control system, and make decisions and improve policies based on overall public health situations.

All overseas branches and projects need to made proactive moves based on the latest developments of the outbreaks in their respective countries while on the lookout for potential risks and loopholes in prevention and control. Construction sites must set up strict restrictions, register all entries and exits of personnel, monitor body temperatures, supervise health protection, and disinfect work sites, offices and residential areas.

Knowledge of prevention and control and latest updates on outbreak developments should be popularized among the staff and management should step up efforts in addressing employees' difficulties and concerns.

Moreover, inclusive, operational and detailed back-up plans need to be set up quickly with all possible scenarios taken into consideration, and strict measures should be taken to prevent imported cases.
