On May 9, China State Construction (CSCEC)'s Overseas Project COVID-19 Prevention and Control Group, together with CSCEC's International Cooperation Department, inspected the epidemic prevention and control work at the project of China-Cambodia Friendship Medical Building, the new building project of the Chinese Embassy in Bahrain, and a cooperation project on technology for the National Assembly Building of the Republic of Congo.

The group inquired in detail managers at different overseas projects about the implementation of the COVID-19 prevention and control guidelines issued by the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the embassies and consulates, and the CSCEC headquarters, as well as about the latest updates on COVID-19 and the epidemic prevention and control policy in these countries.

Remote inspections were carried out on personnel management, epidemic prevention, guarantee of daily living supplies, and orderly resumption of production and operation.

Following CSCEC's personnel health risk assessment and COVID-19 testing requirements, the project of China-Cambodia Friendship Medical Building has convened regular working group meetings on epidemic prevention and control, strengthened the coordination of on-site epidemic prevention and control, contacted key domestic hospitals for online medical service and epidemic prevention and control consultation, and made unannounced inspections on the implementation of epidemic prevention and control measures on the construction site.

The project of Chinese Embassy in Bahrain New Building has set up a team of specialists to guarantee effective epidemic control on the construction site.

The team is tasked with helping the implementation of various on-site epidemic control measures, identifying potential risks, and reporting to the CSCEC headquarters twice a week.

CSCEC's international technical cooperation projects, such as the project of the National Assembly Building of the Republic of Congo, have exerted all efforts to guarantee COVID-19 prevention and control on site. The project management has actively cooperated with the property owner to execute anti-epidemic measures at the conference venues, and conscientiously performed other duties such as keeping daily maintenance of the project facilities and equipment, dealing with unexpected technical problems, supporting the operations at all venues, formulating project operation and technical training manuals, etc.

These actions helped the project management to provide high-quality technical cooperation services for the successful organization of important local meetings.

CSCEC has been an important force in executing China's foreign aid projects and constructing Chinese embassy and consulate facilities abroad. Many of CSCEC's current foreign aid projects are key national aid projects in the new period, while the Chinese embassy and consulate facilities projects are representations of Chinese cultural and national image.

The six technical cooperation service projects being implemented will provide office and conference venues for regional international organizations and the host countries.

Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, CSCEC's foreign aid projects and the Chinese embassy and consulate facilities projects have fully implemented the measures to contain the virus, and have guaranteed the orderly progress of projects as well as the proper functioning of key venues while ensuring the health and safety of employees.
