On May 29, Zhou Naixiang, chairman of China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), and Hu Xiaolian, chairman of the Export-Import Bank of China (China Eximbank), held talks at the CSCEC headquarters in Beijing. Both parties stated that they would take this opportunity of signing the strategic cooperation framework agreement to strengthen their partnership both at home and abroad, promote closer integration of industry and finance, and achieve a higher level of bank-enterprise cooperation. Zheng Xuexuan, president of CSCEC, and Wu Fulin, vice chairman and president of China Eximbank, signed the agreement on behalf of the two parties.

During the talks, Zhou extended the China Eximbank delegation a warm welcome and expressed gratitude for its comprehensive financial support for the development of CSCEC. Zhou said that, as a state-owned policy bank that supports China's foreign trade, investment, and international economic cooperation, China Eximbank has played a significant role in stabilizing economic growth, structural readjustment, and supporting the development of foreign trade. He said that China Eximbank and CSCEC have established a profound partnership because of their shared commitment to actively following the "going global" strategy and implementing the Belt and Road Initiative. They have a lot in common in setting the strategic goals matching the world's first-class enterprises and banks, and there are broad prospects for cooperation between the two parties.

Zhou said he hopes the two sides take the opportunity of signing the strategic cooperation framework agreement to establish a regular communication mechanism, strengthen partnership overseas, make innovations on domestic business cooperation, and promote greater integration of industry and finance. The two sides should also aim to make full use of their respective advantage to derive mutual benefits, promote joint development, and devise a higher-level bank-enterprise cooperation model.

Hu showed appreciation to CSCEC for its trust in and support for China Eximbank. She reviewed the history of close cooperation between the two parties and celebrated CSCEC's outstanding achievements in marketization and internationalization in recent years. Hu said that the partnership between CSCEC and China Eximbank has a solid foundation and broad prospects, and that she hopes the two sides will strengthen the strategic cooperation both at home and abroad in an all-round way. She said she hopes the two sides would further expand cooperation and innovate cooperation models in policy and commercial financial services in order to better support the real economy with the financial sector, better serve the implementation of major national strategies, and better develop a win-win bank-enterprise cooperation.

After the talks, the two parties held a signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation agreement. According to the agreement, CSCEC and China Eximbank will adhere to the principles of "comprehensive cooperation, equality and mutual benefits, long-term stability, and joint development" to develop strategic cooperation in the areas such as credit, consulting, trade finance, and capital services.
