Investors confident of China's securities market: survey

Investors' confidence in China's securities market has strengthened recently, data from the China Securities Investor Protection Fund Corporation Limited (SIPF) showed.

The investor confidence index compiled by the SIPF rose for the second consecutive month in May to reach 58.3, up 4.9 percent from April.

A reading above 50 indicates optimism, while a reading below 50 indicates pessimism.

The sub-index for the intention of purchasing stocks rose to 53.7, up 4.1 percent month on month, according to the index report.

So far this year, investors' recognition for the overall valuation of the stock markets declined 1.9 percent month on month to 56.4, generally in line with the average.
