China's production of 10 major non-ferrous metals rose 2.9 percent year on year to 29.28 million tonnes in the first half of 2020, official data showed.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the pace of growth accelerated further from a rise of 2.7 percent in the first five months and 2.6 percent in the January-April period.

The 10 major non-ferrous metals are copper, aluminum, lead, zinc, nickel, tin, antimony, mercury, magnesium and titanium.

Production of electrolytic aluminum, which accounts for nearly two-thirds of the total output, registered a 1.7-percent increase from the previous year to 17.89 million tonnes in the first half of this year.

In June alone, the combined output of the 10 metals reached 5.08 million tonnes, up 3.1 percent from a year earlier.
