Guizhou attracts 30.56B yuan investment

Guizhou province secured big deals on Saturday in Beijing at the ongoing 2020 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS).
At the business-promotion ceremony, various cultural, tourism and health enterprises from Guizhou signed 10 deals for a total investment of 9.08 billion yuan ($1.33 billion). But these were just the start of actual deals reached. According to Guizhou provincial government, a total of 52 projects have been signed at or outside of the event, attracting 30.56 billion yuan investment to Guizhou overall.
A portion of the CIFTIS, which is being held at China Beijing International Cultural Industry Expo (ICIE), is dubbed the Guizhou pavilion and allows the public to learn about 25 enterprises from the southern province.
The exhibitions demonstrate how cultural, touristic and medical industries have developed and highlights key achievements in recent years. More than 50 local folk goods are also displayed, drawing the interest of domestic and foreign businessmen and visitors.
Notably, the province is home to large natural resources, including forests, green belts and other ecological systems, as well as 17 ethnic minorities and their folk cultures. Local governments and enterprises have been working hard to explore and enhance the protection of these cultures through registry of intellectual property, while helping them improve the business and investment environment.
The 2020 CIFTIS runs from Sept. 4 - 9 in Beijing. It is the first major international economic and trade event held both online and offline by China since the COVID-19 outbreak.
