China's production of 10 major non-ferrous metals rose 3.1% year-on-year to 34.6 million tonnes in the first seven months of 2020, official data showed.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the growth pace accelerated further from a rise of 2.9% in the first half of the year and 2.7% in the first five months.

The 10 major non-ferrous metals are copper, aluminum, lead, zinc, nickel, tin, antimony, mercury, magnesium and titanium.

Production of electrolytic aluminum, which accounted for nearly two-thirds of the total output, registered a 2.5% increase from the previous year to 21.13 million tonnes in the first seven months.

In July alone, the combined output of the 10 metals hit 5.08 million tonnes, up 3.3% from a year earlier.
