A technology trading section featuring over 7,000 innovation projects will take place for the first time as part of the upcoming 2020 Zhongguancun Forum (ZGC Forum), according to a press conference held by the forum's organizing committee on Monday.

More than 300 high-profile domestic and international technology transfer institutions and service organizations will take part in the event both online and offline and discuss over 600 topics concerning various technological advancements.

A comprehensive service platform for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and technology trading has been set up to support the event. The platform has been accessible since Aug. 18.

In addition, an international alliance for technology trading will be established, bringing together world-renowned tech transfer institutions, companies, and experts to promote cross-border tech trading, cooperation, and help the industrialization of technological achievements.

A total of 103 institutions from 18 countries and regions have expressed their wishes to join the alliance, including Oxford's Oxentia, the Georgia Institute of Technology, Saint Petersburg State University, and other leading tech transfer institutions.

A top 100 list for industrial innovation technologies will also be released during the trading session on Sept. 17. The list will highlight four fields including artificial technology (AI) and smart manufacturing; biotechnology and big health; energy conservation, environmental protection, and green innovation; and next-generation information technology (IT) and smart transportation.

More than 2,500 projects, including some 1,800 from China, have so far been submitted. Only the top 25 from the above four fields will make it to the final list.

This year, the forum's new products release series will take place during the tech session's opening ceremony and run alongside six other themed release events. Additionally, a total of 59 global and over 200 Chinese programs will be unveiled.

Themed "Meet Challenge with Corporation and Innovation," the 2020 ZGC Forum will be held in Beijing from Sept. 17 to 20. This year's event will feature four sections including conference, exhibition, trade, and release activities.
