Sixteen major contracts were signed on the first day of the trade fair of the ZGC Forum that opened in Beijing on Thursday, covering the fields of new materials, the internet of things, artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, and new energy vehicles. The contract value of the first deal signed at the fair reached 120 million yuan (US$17.75 million).

This year's technology trade fair featurs both online and offline formats, aiming to better connect the supply and demand sides.

More than 7,000 cutting-edge and high-end projects are being showcased at the trade fair, attracting over 300 technology transfer institutions and service organizations to attend.

A series of technological projects was launched for the first time at the fair. These projects include "Detection Kit for Multi-target Genes and Intelligent Cell Identification System of Bladder Carcinoma" undertaken by a team from the U.S. National Institutes of Health, a data storage and laptop project from Dell Technologies, a project on the drug Orelabrutinib (Innochem) from InnoCare, and a project called "AI Productivity Platform Brain++ Commercial Edition" from Megvii.

In addition, an online exhibition platform was set up to allow exhibitors to more effectively connect with buyers online despite the COVID-19 pandemic. This process will be streamlined with such technologies as artificial intelligence and big data.

The fair released a list of the world's top 100 cutting-edge technologies that cover four areas, including the AI and intelligent manufacturing, biotechnology and big health, energy conservation and environmental protection and green innovation, and new-generation information technology and smart transportation.

The International Technology Trade Alliance was also established at the fair, which invited 103 institutions and organizations to join. The alliance has an aim of building an international platform for scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation and better facilitating international technology transfer.
