Established by the 2020 Zhongguancu (ZGC) Forum held in September, a platform dedicated to promoting trade and application of new technologies is helping to connect demand and supply sides in China and around the world.
Called the technology fair, the platform was launched to enable businesses and individuals to publish their projects and needs, find potential partners, and hold roadshow events.
A total of 59 overseas and over 200 domestic projects were unveiled at last month's ZGC Forum.
"We were surprised to receive 105 emails from overseas after we published our technology at last month's event," said Zhong Feipeng, chief technology officer of a Beijing-based company that develops insulation materials used in clothing and other related products.
Yang Wenjun, a senior executive at a company that develops medical kits used for COVID-19 testing, said their technology solutions have attracted as much as 100 million yuan (US$14.92 million) in potential financing deals with top Chinese investors after the company published its projects last month.
Another company, a Japanese firm whose project helps to reduce cross-infection in hospitals, has drawn interest from several Beijing-based hospitals and companies.
So far, more than 600 technology requests have been published on the platform, including 24 that were unveiled at roadshow events. Eleven of the requests have received solution offers from scientific and research organizations.
The platform provides around-the-clock services to businesses and institutions in order to clear the "last mile" of technology applications, said an official with the Zhongguancun administrative committee.
