Huairou starts construction of brain science platform

The construction of a research platform of brain cognitive mechanism and brain-computer interface recently began in Beijing's Huairou Science City. The platform was set up by the Institute of Biophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Huairou Science City.
The project covers a floor space of 30,500 square meters. It features six research fields, including human brain cognition, brain cognitive molecular neuroscience, human brain mapping, brain science, and intelligence technology.
The project is expected to promote the development of brain science and artificial intelligence, which will underpin such major national strategies as the China Brain Project and AI 2.0, according to the person in charge of the project.
