The third China International Import Expo (CIIE) concluded on Nov. 10. Featuring six exhibition areas of food and agricultural products, automobiles, technical equipment, consumer goods, medical equipment and healthcare products as well as trade in services, the six-day expo saw the participation of more than 1,000 exhibitors and the display of over 10,000 products.

Among so many exhibits, none caught more attention as the "most" series of products – the healthiest meat, the most expensive coffee, the most powerful tractor, the most intelligent cosmetic, the strongest tire and the smallest pacemaker.

The healthiest meat – a vegetarian option offered by the U.S.-based agriculture and food company Cargill

Made from plants such as peas and soybeans, the nutritious "vegetarian meat" has appearance and flavor similar to the real thing, but is free from cholesterol and trans fatty acids. For those looking for a light meal, such meat is a good choice.

The most expensive coffee on display was Kopi luwak from the Pacific Island nation of East Timor

Made from beans excreted by civet cats, Kopi luwak, or "cat-poop coffee", is highly sought-after among high-end coffee enthusiasts. At this expo, 1g of the mellow and slightly minty-flavored coffee from East Timor cost 20 yuan (US$3) and a regular-sized cup went as high as 400 yuan.

The high price is largely due to the limited supply of 800kg per year from the island nation, which, according to Liang Liwei, CEO of East Timor National Pavilion Coffee Industry Center, strictly follows animal welfare guidelines during the production process.
