The 5G network at Beijing Capital International Airport was recently completed, matching the rollout of Beijing Daxing International Airport's 5G network earlier. Now completely operational, the network allows 240,000 people to simultaneously surf the internet at high speeds.

The 5G network covers all areas of Terminals 1, 2, and 3 of the airport, as well as parking aprons and parking buildings.

Since the start of the 10-month project in December 2019, Beijing Mobile and China Tower (Beijing branch) have closely cooperated to build a total of 101 indoor and outdoor wireless base stations. The current network capacity will cater to the simultaneous call and data traffic needs of as many as 240,000 5G users.

On-site testing shows that the airport's average 5G download speeds can reach upwards of 1,000 Mbps. Beijing Mobile has set up office branches in both Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 to provide passengers with various mobile business services.
