China's logistics sector sustained steady expansion in November as broader economic recovery consolidates, data from the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing showed on Wednesday.

The logistics performance index, which tracks business volumes, new orders, employment, inventory turnover, and equipment utility rates in the sector, came in at 57.5 percent last month, up by 1.2 percentage points from October.

A reading above 50 percent indicates expansion, while a reading below that reflects contraction.

The index showed accelerated recovery of the sector in November, and all sub-indexes remained in the expansion range, said He Hui, director of the China Logistics Information Center.

The sub-index for gross business volumes rose by 1.2 percentage points from the previous month to 57.5 percent, indicating active business activities. The sub-index for equipment utility rates gained 0.1 percentage points from October to 56.3 percent in November.

In terms of sectors, only the sub-index for the railway transport sector saw a slight drop in November from its high-level performances in October.

Recovery in other sectors all picked up, especially in the express delivery sector. The sub-index tracking the express delivery sector hit a new high in the year, driven by the e-commerce shopping festival in November.
