Beijing plans to raise 98.2 billion yuan (US$15.18 billion) for its 116 major projects this year, the city announced at a recent fundraising meeting for those projects.

According to the Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform, Beijing will prioritize investment related to building itself into a national center of politics, culture, international exchanges, and scientific and technological innovation, improving urban functions and quality, and protecting old relics and heritages.

The city will also focus on the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integrated development, the construction of its sub-center, the renovations of old residential and commercial areas, improving the urban environment, building affordable housing, and other major infrastructure projects.

Since 2015, the municipal commission of development and reform has worked with local financial regulators and financial institutions, and established a fundraising system connecting major projects with investors. The commission said it will make the system permanent and provide more personalized services for companies and financial institutions.
