The Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA) recently established six "accelerated zones" as part of its efforts to promote the industrial development of scientific and technological achievements.

These six zones are Yicheng International Center, Information and Technology Application and Innovation Park, Beijing University of Technology Software Park, Chaolin Square, Han's Plaza, and Hongkun International Biomedical Park. They cover a combined area of 82,000 square meters and host a total of 30 innovation service platforms.

Over the years, the BDA has seen the transformation of an increasing number of scientific and technological achievements from the Zhongguancun Science City, Huairou Science City, and Future Science City. Data shows that, during the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020), the BDA undertook the commercialization of more than 100 scientific and technological findings annually. More than 150 transformation projects were launched last year, and the BDA is expecting to see that number to increase to 200.

To encourage innovation activities and nurture high-tech companies, the BDA also provides projects and service institutions that were included in the incentive program with various types of support, including rental subsidies, loans with discounted interest, rewards for talents, and investment funds.

In addition, the BDA is setting up a special fund for the transformation of scientific and technological achievement, aiming to support the R&D and incubation of transformation projects.
