China's civil aviation sector has recovered to the pre-epidemic level in March, said an industry report.

Last month, the average daily number of flights in the country reached 12,451, around 250 percent that of the same period a year ago, according to a report released by VariFlight, a China-based civil-aviation data service provider.

The country has handled a total of 389,600 departure flights in March, up 140.91 percent year on year.

Chinese airports have seen the total number of operations, including takeoffs and landings, jump 69 percent month on month to 820,000 in March, nearly the same level before the COVID-19 epidemic.

In terms of the passenger load factor, it has reached 73.2 percent per day, 11.84 percent higher than the average level in February, said the report.
