An 11,000-square-meter special exhibition zone for digital services will be set up for the first time at the 2021 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), according to the fair's organizing committee on Wednesday.

This year's event will feature more than 10 forums on the latest trend of digital services, China's digital economy, and the sustainable development of digital economy. Leading companies at home and abroad in 5G, big data, AI, block chain, and cloud computing industries will be invited to attend the special exhibition for digital services, in a bid to demonstrate the latest application of digital technologies in the service sector. And eight special exhibitions will display new business forms and models, as well as achievements in the development trend driven by digital, internet, and smart technologies.

Amazon Web Services (AWS), a global leader in cloud computing, has reached an initial agreement with the organizers to participate in the fair. The company is aiming to hold exchanges and share experiences with other companies from China and the rest of the world through this platform, in a bid to better enhance the global cooperation in the digital sector and the development of the digital economy.

"China is one of the major countries in the global business network of AWS, and we hope to energize Chinese companies with our advantages in global business, in a bid to boost China's digital economy," said Li Xiaomang, general manager of AWS China Commercial. AWS, which entered into China's market in 2013, has been focused on developing 10 major industries in China, including finance, automobile, manufacturing, retail, and fast-moving consumer goods. The company is also setting up professional teams in these industries to provide technological support for foreign companies to come to China and for Chinese companies to go global.

Li said that, as one of the major digital technologies, cloud computing will play a vital role in supporting the digital transformation and upgrading in different industries, which will further accelerate the digitalization of the service trade. "Some companies currently are not available for the knowledge of cloud technologies, and we hope to help more companies to know about it through the platform provided by CIFTIS," Li said.

So far, 39 well-known firms including Amazon, Huawei, Alibaba, and Baidu have signed up for the digital services exhibition.
