China's installed clean energy capacity registered rapid growth in the first 10 months of the year, data from the National Energy Administration (NEA) showed.

By the end of October, the country's installed power generation capacity totaled about 2.3 billion kilowatts, rising 9 percent year on year.

The installed wind power capacity soared 30.4 percent year on year to 300 million kilowatts while solar power capacity stood at 280 million kilowatts, up 23.7 percent year on year, the data showed.

China is forging ahead in renewable energy development amid its transition to a low-carbon economy.

The country has announced that it will strive to peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.
