Beijing Daxing International Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone, China's first and only inter-provincial and municipal comprehensive bonded area passed acceptance testing yesterday, a process jointly conducted by eight ministries including The General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC), The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and The Ministry of Finance (MOF).

Located in the northeast of Daxing Airport's cargo area, the Beijing Daxing International Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone covers nearly 4.35 square kilometers, of which the bonded functional area takes up 3.52 square kilometers and the port functional area covers 0.83 square kilometers. The phase I project of the bonded area covers a total of 1.90 square kilometers.

The bonded area is positioned to serve as an engine of the Beijing Daxing International Airport Economic Zone. It will take advantage of the convenience brought by integrating the zone and port to explore the establishment of a model for high-efficiency customs clearance supervision.

The bonded area has optimized its services. Relying on the "single window" online platform and paperless office, companies can handle all procedures without being present, which saves significant time and reduces the risk of epidemic infection.

According to Jia Dong of the Enterprise Management Office of Beijing Customs, for any business that needs to be handled on-site, companies will only be required to submit related documents once, at which point the documents will be shared internally and all subsequent procedures can be handled.

Meanwhile, a smart warehousing service allows enterprises to maximize warehouse space. Jia said that with the warehouse management system (WMS) connected to the customs system, companies are now able to manage their cargo accurately and can convert bonded goods to non-bonded goods.

In the future, various innovative customs policies will also be implemented in the Beijing Daxing International Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone. To date, a total of six projects have begun operating in the area.
