Starting from May 9, five types of businesses in Beijing can apply for delayed payments for employees’ basic old-age insurance, unemployment insurance, and work-related injury insurance.
These businesses include catering, retailing, tourism, civil aviation, and highway and railway transport. The policy is part of the Beijing municipality’s efforts to help out the service sector, which has been hit hard by the latest COVID-19 outbreak.
Postponements will be applied to enterprises’ share of premiums, while for employees, enterprises shall fulfill the obligation of withholding and remitting in accordance with the law. Self-employed businesses with hired hands can also enjoy this preferential policy if they participate in the city’s social security scheme.
Premiums that are covered by the policy include basic old-age insurance from April to June and unemployment and work-related insurance from April to October this year. From May 9 to 13, qualified enterprises can apply for delayed payments starting from April. From May 16 to 25, they can apply to enjoy them from May onwards. Payment delays from June to October can be applied for during the first half of each month, which will then take effect in the same month.
Enterprises can log on to the official website of the Beijing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau ( http://rsj.beijing.gov.cn/) to get more information.
