The third Multinationals Qingdao Summit will be held from June 20 to 21 in Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province, as part of the country's efforts to press ahead with high-level opening-up and promote global economic recovery.

The summit will focus on six topics, including global industrial and supply chains, the implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership agreement, and green and low-carbon transformation, Vice Commerce Minister Qian Keming told a press conference on Wednesday.

A report to elaborate on the role of multinationals in China and the global supply chain layout will also be published during the summit by the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation under the Commerce Ministry.

To date, 313 overseas multinational companies from 31 countries and regions have signed up for offline events, with over 3,000 guests from multinational companies registered for online activities.

Against the backdrop of global economic uncertainty, China has remained a popular destination for foreign capital, with foreign investment up 20.5 percent year on year from January to April.

The first Qingdao Multinationals Summit was held in October 2019 in Qingdao, with a total of 115 Fortune 500 companies and 284 industry leaders attending the event.
