Two major logistics projects in Beijing have been awarded investment support from the central government budget, announced the Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform recently.

The two projects are a dynamic reservation, distribution and processing center for agricultural and sideline products in Beijing's Pinggu district and the SF Express North China Smart Logistics Headquarter Base in the Beijing Daxing International Airport Economic Zone.

The Pinggu project, expected to be completed by the end of this year, will help improve the cold chain logistics supply system by building cold and room-temperature storage facilities as well as sorting areas. The project will cover a total construction area of 9,716 square meters with 31,000 cubic meters of cold storage capacity.

According to the Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform, the Pinggu project will help develop supply chains by integrating dynamic storage, distribution and processing, along with safety testing and food supply, which will facilitate the supply of agricultural products in the capital.

The second project, covering a total construction area of 176,000 square meters, will provide air express package sorting, urban package distribution, intelligent storage and other professional services. It will develop a land-air multimodal transport model and a smart logistics development platform to boost development of the Daxing International Airport Economic Zone.

The project is expected to be completed in August 2023, and will help integrate logistics resources in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region as well as reduce costs and increase efficiency in the logistics industry.
