By June 30, a total of 42 countries and regions as well as 11 international organizations had officially confirmed they will participate in this year's China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), marking a rise in the number of international participants.

Located on the first floor of the China National Convention Center, one of the venues for CIFTIS, this year's national pavilions will remain a showcase of the business environment, leading industries and national features for participating countries, covering various fields such as culture and tourism, education, e-commerce, healthcare and the digital industry.

So far, 30 countries that have advantages in service trade, including Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Japan, Thailand and Australia, have confirmed their participation. Italy, Switzerland and Australia will set up their national pavilions at the fair for the first time.

During the exhibition, economic and trade promotion institutions from Germany will share investment opportunities and their advanced development philosophies on service trade.

Gianpaolo Bruno, director of the Beijing Office of the Italian Trade Agency, said that CIFTIS is one of the most important exhibitions worldwide and provides a great opportunity for Italian companies to showcase their innovation in services and expand their business in China, thus increasing their competitiveness in the knowledge-driven economy.

As this year marks the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic ties between China and Japan, the Japan External Trade Organization will continue to set up a Japanese Pavilion at this year's CIFTIS, promoting their cross-border e-commerce and healthcare services.

The CIFTIS 2022 is scheduled to be held in Beijing in early September, according to event organizers.
