Pinggu to build innovation center for agricultural development

Beijing's northeastern district of Pinggu will start building an innovation center for agricultural science and technology development by the end of this year, according to the Beijing Capital Agribusiness & Foods Group (CAG).
With a planned floor space of 75,000 square meters, the innovation center will be built under the Pingu Agricultural Sci-Tech Innovation Investment Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of the CAG.
The center will carry out national seed innovation and major national agricultural technology projects, and work as a vertical incubation center for the Zhongguancun Pinggu Park.
As part of the efforts to build Pinggu into an agricultural hub, the center will focus on incubating innovative projects and facilitating their commercialization, an executive at Pinggu's CAG subsidiary said.
