The high-quality development of China's construction industry and digital technologies applied in the field will be showcased at this year's China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) in Beijing's Shougang Park from Sept. 1 to 5, local authorities said on Monday.

This year's engineering consultancy and construction services exhibition will feature futuristic technologies for green and low-carbon construction. The exhibition includes four sections: construction industry, engineering consultancy and education research, construction services, and digital and smart technologies.

The exhibition will bring audiences closer to the whole process of construction and engineering projects, help them understand relevant green and innovative concepts and technologies, and offer them real-life experience viewing and operating smart construction equipment.

Audiences will also be able to try virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) wearable devices and have interactive experiences using technologies such as 3D printers, smart furniture, and intelligent robots.

To fully meet the needs of both professional and general audiences, the exhibition will showcase the industry's green innovation achievements and model projects concerning urban renewal, prefabricated buildings, and the Winter Olympics.

After this year's CIFTIS concludes, some of the exhibits will be reused for university education to encourage green and sustainable development.

So far, more than 140 companies have signed up to participate in the exhibition either virtually or in person.
