The Heihe port in the city of Heihe in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province saw its foreign trade up 131.9% year on year in the first three quarters of 2022, local authorities said.

The import and export volume handled through the port totaled 12.53 billion yuan (about 1.74 billion U.S. dollars) during the period, Heihe Customs said.

The customs authority saw the total cargo volume reach about 9.18 million tonnes from January to September in 2022, up 59.5% year on year. It also witnessed 776 inbound and outbound ships, an increase of 128.2% year on year, and 3,273 inbound and outbound vehicles, an increase of 897.9% during the period.

Located on the China-Russia border, Heihe is only 100 meters from Blagoveshchensk, capital of the Amur region in the Russian Far East.
