The Shenzhen Data Exchange was established on Tuesday and officially began trading on the same day.

Located in China's high-tech hub of Shenzhen in Guangdong Province, the Shenzhen Data Exchange, aims to become a state-level data exchange and better adapt to the development of the Chinese digital economy.

As of October this year, Shenzhen has introduced 348 trading entities related to the data industry to participate in the relevant market, with a focus on creating a sound market environment.

The value of China's digital economy reached 45.5 trillion yuan (about 6.3 trillion U.S. dollars) in 2021, accounting for 39.8 percent of the country's GDP, according to a report released by the Chinese Academy of Cyberspace Studies.
