Two Beijing-based companies—BlueFocus and Perfect World—appeared on the latest National Top 30 Cultural Enterprises. Three other Beijing-based companies were also nominated for the recently released list.

These five companies reflect how the integrated development of culture and technology has become a prominent feature of Beijing's cultural industry. Beijing has been actively implementing a "culture+" strategy to empower the city's development of its cultural industry. The integrated development of cultural, scientific, and technological sectors has played a key role in boosting the high-quality development of the city's cultural industry.

From Jan. to Oct. 2022, Beijing's "culture + sci-tech" companies achieved an operating income of 856.43 billion yuan, accounting for 61.7% of the operating income of cultural enterprises in the city. As such, digital culture has become an important engine for the high-quality development of Beijing's cultural industry.

This year, BlueFocus made the list for the first time. As one of China's most recognized communications services, the company is perhaps best known for its world-class XR virtual reality technology shooting studio, which is also the largest in Asia. The company has built an industrial ecosystem integrating IP, products, and services.

Perfect World was ranked among the fourth batch of National Culture and Technology Integration Demonstration Bases in 2021. Between 2011 and 2021, it was voted as one of the National Top 30 Cultural Enterprises for 10 years straight. The company continues to invest in cutting-edge technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality and uses a variety of cutting-edge technologies to improve audience experiences.

The other nominated Beijing-based companies are Golden Times Media Technology, Beijing Shengtong Printing Co., Ltd., and Beijing Gehua CATV Network Co., Ltd.
