​Jingzhuang in Beijing's Yanqing district beefs up rural revitalization

A practice base for rural revitalization, the first of its kind in Beijing, was set up in Jingzhuang town, northwestern Beijing's Yanqing district on Jan. 8, according to the Jingzhuang Town Rural Revitalization Conference.

To provide knowledge support for Jingzhuang's growth, a think tank was also established at the conference, which gathers top-notch planners and experts from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Beijing Normal University, China Tourism Association, Beijing Municipal Research Center for Rural Economy and China Cuisine Association.

On the same day, Jingzhuang released its development plan for 2023. It will build itself into a beautiful town with garden-like setting, competitive agricultural products and business environment favorable for rural businesses and industry.

The town has attracted professionals from the nation's leading tourism platforms including Trip.com Group, Orion (Beijing) Cultural Tourism Development Co., Ltd. and Toread Holdings Group to invest and participate into Jingzhuang's outdoor economic development.

Ancient and historic town, Jingzhuang received 632,000 visitors in 2022, 30.8 percent up over 2021, and the tourism income hit 46.39 million yuan, 57.2 percent up. The place is noted for its picturesque landscape, intangible cultural heritage and cuisine. Liugou village in the town is famous for tofu feast with pot-on-heater and features relics like city walls, city gate towers and temples.
