Beijing capital airport economic zone adds 69 high-tech enterprises

Recently, 69 enterprises at the Beijing Capital International Airport economic zone in the Beijing's Shunyi district received certifications as companies involved in new and high technologies, bringing the number of such firms in the zone to 256. The newly qualified companies are mainly in the medical and information technology sectors. 

Beijing attaches great importance to the development of new- and high-tech companies and supports them in various aspects, said Zhang Jing, director of human resources of Yisheng Technology (Beijing) Co. Ltd., one of the recently certified companies. "We will increase R&D expenditure and provide more services and products to meet the needs of patients and the medical care industry," Zhang said. 

"Our first digital front end chip for small 5G base stations has been available in the market, with lower costs and greater performance," said Liu Dake, president of the Beijing Wuji Xindong Technology Co. Ltd., another company in the economic zone. 

Enterprises specialized in scientific research and technological services above the designated size in the economic zone registered a total revenue of 7.71 billion yuan (US$1.15 billion) in 2022, up by 93.2% year on year. 

Leveraging scientific and technological innovation to upgrade industries, Shunyi district has promoted sound development of industrial clusters including air services, cross-border finance, cultural trade, commercial exhibition, digital trade, medical health, and international logistics. 

According to the person in charge of the economic zone, the zone has aided the companies to transform and enhance smart manufacturing, through the provision of human resources and R&D support, along with platform assistance and project aid.
