Beijing's Mentougou district will build at least 70 5G base stations this year, which will bring the total number of these stations in the district to about 600 by the end of this year.

The new 5G base stations will be built mainly in scenic spots and its nearby roads and villages, as well as densely populated residential areas and commercial areas, according to the district.

Currently, the 520 5G base stations in the district provide coverage to all towns, key shopping areas, major roads as well as scenic spots including Tanzhe Temple and Jietai Temple. Micro 5G base stations for indoor areas have been available in various office buildings.

The wide coverage of 5G signal has allowed Zhongguancun Mentougou Park to provide wireless testing services for R&D companies in the park.
