The second phase of the Zhongguancun Industrial Internet Industrial Park project recently kicked off in Beijing's Shijingshan district.
The whole project of the industrial park is valued at 9 billion yuan ($1.3 billion) and covers a total area of 450,000 square meters. It was developed through a strategic partnership between Zhongguancun Development Group (ZGC Group) and the Shijingshan District People's Government of Beijing Municipality.
Before initiating the project's first phase, a precursor area opened in September 2020 and is now home to dozens of enterprises and industry institutions in related sectors. Construction of the first phase began in September 2021 and is slated for completion in the first quarter of 2024.
Once completed, the project's second phase will be the industrial park's central zone. It will integrate eight facility types, including data centers, exhibition centers, and international conference centers.
An official from the industrial park revealed plans to attract businesses specializing in industrial internet networks, industrial automation and edge computing, industrial software and apps, and industrial intelligence. The park aims to house nearly 150 industrial internet companies in the future, generating an annual output value of 50 billion yuan and creating 15,000 jobs.
