Malta, Chinese energy giant to decarbonize energy sector

The Government of Malta held discussions with Shanghai Electric Power on different technologies that can help decarbonize the energy sector, it said in a statement on Saturday.

During an official visit to Shanghai, Maltese Minister for the Environment, Energy and Enterprise Miriam Dalli held discussions with the Shanghai-based energy giant to evaluate different technologies that can help decarbonize the sector.

Shanghai Electric Power is a minority shareholder in Malta's state-owned energy provider Enemalta.

During its visit to Shanghai, the Maltese delegation visited a number of green projects, including a hydrogen refilling station, a smart energy control center and a green energy center.
