To all units it may concern, 

The Global Digital Economy Conference (GDEC) is a national-level international conference approved by the State Council of the People's Republic of China and co-sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Commerce, the Cyberspace Administration of China, the China Association for Science and Technology, and the Beijing Municipal People's Government. GDEC, successfully held for three times since 2021, is committed to building up the global digital economy that features inclusiveness, balanced development, innovation, win-win cooperation and common prosperity, and creating a global platform across countries, fields and industries for exchanges and cooperation on new theories, rules, technologies, industries and systems of the digital economy.

The 2024 GDEC is to be held on July 2-5, 2024. To further improve the quality of the conference and gather the wisdom of all parties in the world, the GDEC organizing committee is calling for proposals for the theme and topics included in the 2024 GDEC from the friends of all countries in the world, and the related requirements are as follows:

III. Proposal requirements

The theme of the 2024 GDEC and topics of the 2024 GDEC Thematic Forums should closely follow the development trend of today's digital era, focus on the state-of-the-art topics in digital economy, and be forward-looking, pioneering and global.

(I) Theme

1. The theme of the 2024 GDEC can be in the form of a group of words, a sentence or a pair of sentences, with a word count of 25 words or less. The theme should be concise, distinctive, catchy, and easy for publicity and promotion as well.

2. Themes of previous conferences: Data-driven Development, Intelligence-led Future (2023), Setting Sail for Digital Civilization - New Elements, New Rules, New Patterns (2022), Led by Innovation, Driven by Data - Building a Benchmark City for the Global Digital Economy (2021).

3. Each theme should be accompanied by a description of no more than 300 words that mainly describes the conception and meaning behind the theme.

(II) Topics of thematic forums 

1. Each topic can be a sentence of a declarative sentence or a question, with no limit on the style, including but not limited to the following directions: global digital governance, marketization of data elements, digital technological innovation, industrial digital transformation, digital infrastructure, digital trade, etc.

2. Each topic should be accompanied by a description of 150 words or less that mainly describes the significance and value of the topic.

IV. Reward

The contributor whose theme or topic submitted is adopted will receive 3 tickets to the 2024 GDEC and a mascot of the conference - a doll called Little Digital Intelligence, and his/her personal profile and creative ideas will be publicly displayed on the official website of the conference if the contributor permits.

V. Submission method

The email should be titled with: 2024 GDEC Theme & Topic + Name of the contributor + Contact number.
