Beijing's digital economy benefits German companies

The 2023 Beijing China-Germany Forum for Industrial Cooperation and Development kicked off at the China-Germany Industrial Park in Beijing's Shunyi district on Wednesday. 

Encompassing a variety of activities, including dialogues, thematic forums, and exhibitions, the event showcased the achievements of economic and technological cooperation between China and Germany. The forum also highlighted the development opportunities that Beijing's digital economy advancements have offered German companies.

German company VASTALTA Circular Technology established its Chinese headquarters in the China-Germany Industrial Park in 2022. Rafael Suchan, CEO of VASTALTA Circular Technology said with the help of the city's government, the company has rapidly expanded its business. Suchan added that with the fast development of Beijing's digital economy, they are planning to build a renewable resources service platform in Beijing.

Wilo Group, a German provider of pumps and pump systems, also established its Chinese headquarters and research center in the industrial park. The Wilo China Research Center has become one of the group's four major global research centers.

Rong Guang, director of government and public affairs at Wilo China, said that staff from China and Germany have maintained close communication and that mutual training programs have been hosted.
