Digital trade think tank launched to promote development

A digital trade think tank was launched on Nov. 23 during the Second Global Digital Trade Expo, held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province.

The GDTE Digital Trade Think Tank, a joint project by the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) and the Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, was officially announced at the event, promising to promote digital trade development.

Han Jie, director of the Department of Commerce in Zhejiang Province, and David Blair, vice president of CCG, unveiled the official plaque of the digital trade think tank. With a growing global consensus on digitalization trends, digital trade is increasingly recognized as a new stimulus for global economic growth.

Founding executives and staff at the think tank’s launch included Jin Xu, president of the China Association of International Trade; Sui Mingmei, vice chairman of the China Association of National Advertisers; Mike Liu, vice president and senior fellow at CCG; Chun Yuan Chiang, co-chair of the Digital Health Global Initiative Foundation under framework of UNSDG; Zheng Jinlian, vice president at CCG; Zhang Wei, senior fellow and deputy secretary-general at CCG; and Wu Ying, chief representative of BBZ Academy (Switzerland) China Office, and founder and CEO of Prestige and Fortune Fintech.

The GDTE Digital Trade Think Tank will offer research support and services for the Global Digital Trade Expo. Its focus areas include policy research, institutional innovation, investment promotion, talent recruitment, branding activities, the publication of official reports, and international cooperation within the digital trade sector.
