The 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the world's premier tech show, will convene in the U.S. city of Las Vegas this week.

The annual event, running from Tuesday to Friday, draws more than 130,000 attendees and over 4,000 exhibitors from more than 150 countries and regions, including over 1,200 startups, according to the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), organizer of the CES.

A blend of cutting-edge technologies, new launches and quirky gadgets are expected to swarm the show floor, showcasing the latest trends and innovation in the consumer electronics industries.

Artificial intelligence

While generative AI has been the subject of intense consumer and enterprise excitement, the AI ecosystem is more expansive ranging from chips, platforms, and robots.

AI, including generative AI, will take center stage at CES 2024. Companies big and small are expected to tout products and services that feature AI.

The annual show is expected to present the latest developments in AI and the next generation of intelligent and autonomous machines, and reveal how AI is driving innovations in people's lives such as food, retail and restaurant experiences.

Various panel discussions will address AI's impacts on jobs, lifestyles as well as privacy challenges.

"AI is the story of the show," said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of CTA.

Sustainability

Global warming calls for urgent efforts to promote renewable energy, which offers significant opportunities for the clean energy industry. Clean energy and energy storage solutions have been a focus at previous CES shows.

CES 2024 is expected to showcase the latest innovations and targets set by companies around the world to reduce emissions via improved energy efficiency, responsible recycling and alternative materials and power breakthroughs.

3M company will present climate tech innovations including carbon capture and clean energy production.

Jackery, the world's leading innovative portable power and green outdoor energy solution provider, is expected to showcase its autonomous solar charging robot that can supply power off-grid.

Digital health

Health and wellness as a category has had a growing presence at CES. Digital Health will become more personalized, accessible, and intelligent, allowing digital health's impact to expand further.

Global brands and promising startups will showcase innovations that are making healthcare more personal, portable and customizable.

Devices ranging from sleep tracking, blood glucose monitoring, to remote treatment and wearables, will cover the show floor.

A series of panels will be held on the sidelines of the show to address the development of new health technologies.

Mobility

Mobility encompasses advanced technology-driven transportation solutions on land, sea, and air, with nearly 300 show exhibitors rolling up to CES 2024 with concept cars, infotainment systems, electric vehicles, autonomous mobility, and more.

Various forms of transportation, from floating and rolling to flying, will be featured this year.

Honda will unveil its latest electric vehicle series at CES 2024. Supernal, a U.S.-based smart mobility service provider, will launch its latest prototype flying air taxi at the show.

"We're now the largest auto show in the world," Shapiro said. "We have half a million square feet of exhibit space" devoted to the sector.

Moreover, foldable displays, next-generation wearables and mixed reality-related accessories are also expected to draw attentions this year.
